While Denver based fashion designers Stephanie Ohnmacht has been known on the local fashion scene for a while, earlier this year, she was introduced to the rest of the country as a contestant on ‘Under the Gunn‘ – a ‘Project Runway‘ spinoff featuring past contestants as mentors. Stephanie is back in Denver and feverishly working on her Spring 2015 line. In the meantime, her Fall 2014 line is finished and available for purchase at A-Line boutique or online at www.stephanieodesigns.com.
Like her previous collections, the fall line is tailored and sophisticated with pieces that are easy to transition from day to night. Wearability is important to Stephanie, and she tries to ensure that her collections can easily be integrated with each other and with your own wardrobe. “My clothes are versatile. Many of the pieces can be paired with items that are already in your closet like tee shirts, jeans and cardigans.”
Stephanie is fond of structure, and her pieces are expertly tailored without losing their femininity. The Fall 2014 collection was sparked by navy blue, and built around it with crisp whites, greys and blacks. To capture the spirit of winter, Stephanie used a variety of textured fabrics like leather, wool and boucle making for a line of cozy pieces. Standouts from the collection include the Isabelle – a reversible wool pencil skirt with leather accents that complements a wide range of tops.
